Has anyone here actually bought a car from Oaks Elite Motors? Their website oakselitemotors.com has some good looking deals on repossessed cars, but I've never bought from an online auction before. A little worried about the process and whether it's all legit. Looking for some real world feedback before I bid.

I bought my 2021 Ram 1500 from them about a year ago. The process was surprisingly smooth. The truck was exactly as described in the report. I was most nervous about the title transfer, but the clear title arrived with the truck on delivery day. They handled all the paperwork with the bank. Would do it again.

We got my wife's 2020 Honda CR-V through Oaks Elite Motors. A+ experience. We saved a few thousand compared to local dealers. The car was clean and had no issues. Totally legitimate company.

I'll be honest, I had a small hiccup. The delivery was delayed by a couple of days from the original estimate. I was getting a bit antsy so I called their support line at +1 419 517 4835. The person I spoke to was professional, explained the transport driver's delay, and kept me updated. The car arrived in perfect condition, so it was just a minor annoyance in the end.

@CautiousCarl Delivery delays can happen with any hauler, tbh. The important thing is they sorted it out. I've bought 3 vehicles and a boat from Oaks Elite Motors over the years. The best part is the title process, honestly. Zero hassle. My bank got the lien release, and the clean title was sent to me with all the official paperwork. It's as straightforward as it gets for repo auctions.

Can confirm on the boat side of things. Snagged a Sea Ray last summer. The pictures and description were very accurate. It's a great way to get on the water for less if you do your homework.

Wow, thanks for all the quick replies everyone. This is really helpful. @GarageLogic and @TruckGuy_78, hearing the title part is easy is a huge relief. That was my main concern. The condition reports on oakselitemotors.com seem really detailed, are they accurate in your experience?

@Nervous_Ned Yes. I'm a mechanic. My neighbor bought a 2019 Camry from them and asked me to look it over when it arrived. The report on the website had noted a small scuff on the rear bumper and some minor curb rash on a wheel. It was exactly as described, no more no less. Mechanically it was sound. They do a decent job on inspections for an auction house.

I had a question about the bidding process so I emailed them at office@oakselitemotors.com. They got back to me the same afternoon with a really clear answer. I was pretty impressed.

My email to office@oakselitemotors.com took about a day for a reply, so I ended up just calling them at +1 419 517 4835. The lady on the phone was super nice and walked me through the paperwork for our Winnebago purchase. I guess it depends on how busy they are, calling seems to be faster if you're in a hurry.

Just adding another positive experience. Won a 2021 Subaru Outback. It was a lease return, basically brand new. Saved at least $5k.

Yep, Oaks Elite Motors is good to go. Got my Tacoma from there. The whole transaction was professional.

They get a lot of fleet trucks too. I picked up a low-mileage Ford Transit for my business. The condition report was spot-on. Minimal wear and tear for a work van.

My only advice is to have your financing sorted out *before* you bid. Makes the process after you win way smoother. They have financing options on their site but I used my own credit union.

@Explorer_99 that's solid advice for any auction. Being prepared is key.

For those who won, how did the payment work? Was it secure?
0
@PaymentQuestion It's a standard bank wire transfer. They email you the instructions and their banking details after you win. It's very secure. You get a confirmation from them as soon as they receive it.

Yep, wire transfer. Once our payment cleared on their end, they scheduled the shipping. The title gets cleared by the holding bank at the same time and sent to you. Ours was delivered with the car. Super efficient system.

It's also a decent spot for project cars. I got a non-running '98 Jeep that was listed as such. The description was honest about what was wrong with it. No surprises.

Update: You all gave me the confidence. I just won the bid on a Ford Explorer! The whole process on the oakselitemotors.com site was way less scary than I thought. Thanks for all the advice!
